Boats for wheelchair users Wheelyboats are sturdy, stable and strong. The front ramp is lowered so that wheelchairs can be driven on easily. The ramp is then raised and secured and, as you can see, there is lots of space on board for family and friends. There are also plenty of hand holds. Although not shown on this photograph, bench seats can be fitted for able-bodied people (you can just see the bench holding brackets if you look carefully!) who can either drive the boat or be passengers. Our Wheelyboats are powered by a four stroke outboard motor at the back which is quiet but gives just the right amount of power to enjoy the river to the full.
